Home Comforts
About our care
There are many situations where a Non Medical Caregiver is the answer to your problems.
Dad doesn’t need to drive any longer but still likes to visit the local hardware store.
Mom’s not mobile but still wants to look her best and that requires a Friday trip to the beauty parlor.
The chemotherapy takes a toll every time and leaves your loved one tired and weak. They need help with basic chores around the house and getting around safely.
The list of issues is endless. And as much as you want to personally be the answer for the issues your loved one faces you must remember that superheroes are for comic books and movies. You can’t do it all by yourself. Believe me, we have tried and had to have help. And now, we are here to help you.
We always begin with a family interview to determine your specific needs so we can provide you with the best fit from our group of talented and personable caregivers. They caregiver will then work with you to assure that your loved one is receiving the attention they need in all areas of their life. We understand that when your loved one is happy you will be happy. And when you’re both happy, so are we!

What is Companionship Care? Nonclinical assistance in the comfort of home, just as if a friend or family member has come in to help your loved one. As people age they often feel isolated and alone. Their spouse and friends have passed away. Family members visit as often as they can but they get busy living their own lives. They have the best of intentions but that doesn’t
help with housework or grocery shopping. We provide a caring soul to be there when you want to but can’t so the little things that are still important get done in a timely fashion and your loved one is no longer lonely.
Some of the services we offer include:
- Monitoring the home
- Playing games
- Taking a walk with your loved one
- Reading aloud to them
- Transportation
- Help with communication with others
- Some Homemaking services include:
- Light housekeeping
- Organization
- Cooking
- Laundry
- Taking out trash
Sometimes the greatest needs are physical in nature. Getting out of bed, getting dressed for the day, getting in and out of a wheelchair, standing up to use a walker. We have pro’s who know the best and safest techniques to assist with all the physical needs your loved one might experience. Here are few more ways we can help:
- Light exercise or movement activities to keep joints flexible and muscles strong
- Assistance getting into and out of bed
- Getting dressed
- Moving about in the house
- Getting outside for activities or just to be in the sun
- Managing stairs or handicapped ramps
- Getting in and out of vehicles
You get the idea. There are many daily activities that you and I take for granted that become major obstacles as our loved ones’ ages. But often, with a little assistance, they can continue to
feel like an overcomer, and that is important to their overall attitude which contributes greatly to their physical and mental health.
Some of the greatest challenges of the aging process is the limited ability to perform the functions of basic hygiene. The simple act of bathing and grooming become overwhelming tasks that they no longer have the energy or ability to carry out. Here are a few of the things we can assist with:
- Bathing/showering assistance
- Grooming
- Shaving with an electric razor
- Oral hygiene
- Toilet and incontinent care
- Bed baths
Think about how good you feel after you’re all cleaned up. It changes your whole outlook on life! Our aging loved ones’ need all the help they can get in seeing and feeling good about themselves and the world around them. A little help can go a long way!
Staying well is of utmost importance for your aging loved one. Our Caregivers provide services to help slow the effects of the natural process of aging both mentally and physically. We can assist in areas such as:
- Proper nutrition
- Mental stimulation
- Meal planning and preparation
- Light exercise and physical therapy
- Personal safety
- Medication reminders
Our Caregivers are trained to observe the little changes in behavior, attitude and activity that indicate there may be an issue requiring medical attention and avoid a small issue becoming a
major problem.
Being the primary caregiver for a loved one is no small task. In fact, it can be the hardest thing you ever do! It often consumes you. Your time, your energy, your mental clarity, and eventually your own health. And the fact that you care so deeply makes it that much more consuming.
Soon you find yourself dreaming of a break, just a short break, any kind of break.
Let us give you that much needed respite. A few hours a week or a few hours a day we can provide the care and assistance for your loved one and give you the opportunity to go out for a good meal, take a walk, visit with friends . . even take a nap!
Before your loving care becomes a source of frustration and resentment, give us a call.
